Do traveling and training mix?

In this episode, Mike and Brett discuss how they manage traveling and training. They give you some strategies to improve your workouts when you travel and discuss something else you may never have thought about – what to do to get back into training (safely) after your trip.

A few things you’ll hear more about…

  • What Brett does before a trip with his training.
  • Don’t worry about sticking to your exact training plan unless you have a very specific goal. If the goal of your trip is to have fun and spend time with family/friends, indulge a little bit with an extra few drinks or some desserts. Life is short, have some fun. Don’t let training get in the way of you connecting, relaxing.
  • Some low-stress options for traveling and training: utilize bodyweight routines, walk more, do some mobility work, bring a kettlebell if you’re driving.
  • Take your time when hopping back into your routine after a trip.

Everybody responds differently to traveling and training, but there are some dos and don’ts when it comes to exercise and travel in general. Listen in for some valuable insight on how to take care of your body when you aren’t in a normal routine. When you travel your sleep, nutrition and training will absolutely be affected.

By the way… if you enjoy learning more about strength and conditioning, specifically when it comes to how to design the best programs, we’d love to see you at our next Principles of Programming course in Providence Rhode Island on 9/24/22.
