What Your First Week at SOS Will Look Like
At Skill of Strength, we've always believed that joining a gym should be more than filling out a form, picking a membership, and hoping for the best.
Before you invest in us, we want to get to know you. And, just as importantly, we want to make sure SOS is a great fit for you.
We don't want you (and you likely don’t want) to sign up and then not show up.
We want you to join classes on a consistent basis. We want to know what fitness goals you're working toward. We want to help you navigate the days when training feels great and the days when life or funks gets in the way. We want to coach you, challenge you, educate you, and ultimately give you the tools to become more confident and independent in your training.
And we know that starts with a better beginning.
Your First Steps at SOS
Everyone interested in joining our MOVE adult training program starts with:
1 Strategy Session + 2 MOVE Classes*
Your Strategy Session is an opportunity for us to sit down and get to know you.
We'll talk about things like:
- Your fitness goals
- Your previous training experience
- What's worked (and what hasn't worked) for training in the past
- Your current routine and lifestyle
- Any physical limitations, injuries, aches, or health concerns we should know about
- What you're hoping to get out of your experience at SOS
Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to ask us questions and learn more about how our training works.
We know choosing the right place to train is a big decision, and we don’t want you to make that decision based on one conversation and evaluation alone.
That's where the two MOVE classes come into the equation.
Experience not one, but two, SOS MOVE Adult Classes Before You Commit
You can learn a lot about a gym by taking a tour or talking to a coach.
But you can learn even more by actually showing up and experiencing it.
- What does the coaching feel like?
- What is the community like?
- Is the training challenging in the right way?
- Do you feel comfortable asking questions?
- Can you see yourself coming back?
Those are things we believe are what make a gym great, and we want you to find out for yourself.
Over the course of your first two classes, you'll get the opportunity to experience our coaching, meet other members, and get a feel for what training at SOS is really like.
And we'll get the opportunity to learn more about you, too.
Just like we don't believe there is one perfect workout for everyone, we don't believe there is one perfect gym for everyone. And we want to make sure that we're a good match.
*Your 2 trial classes must be completed within a week of your evaluation.
Why do we think this is the best approach?
We want to do a better job of helping people get started on their fitness journey and setting them up for success..
We know choosing a gym can be overwhelming, and is a big decision.
Plus, we've been coaching long enough to know that simply giving someone a workout is not the same as helping someone build a successful training routine.
Results come from smart programming and consistency.
Consistency is a lot easier when you enjoy where you're training, trust your coaches, understand what you're doing, and feel like you belong.
Our goal is to help the right people find a training environment where they can be successful, not to convince every person who walks through our doors to sign up.
And if that ends up being SOS, we're excited to help you get started.
So, if you're thinking about joining us, or know someone who has been considering SOS, the first step is simple:
Let's have a conversation, go through a quick evaluation, and create a strategy. Then come take a couple of classes and decide if we're the right fit for each other.
We don't just want you to join a gym. We want to help you build something that lasts.
