Bridge the Gap Between Rehab and Full Performance

Working with an experienced strength coach after finishing physical therapy can make all the difference in the post-injury outcome.  Whether you're recovering from an ACL or MCL tear on the soccer field or easing back after an ankle sprain obtained on the pickleball court, we help bridge the gap between physical therapy and full return to sport.

There is an optimal way to rehabilitate an athlete after surgery and once physical therapy is finished.

Our proven approach is designed for youth, collegiate, and professional athletes—as well as active individuals—who are ready for the next step after physical therapy. With reinjury rates for ACLs as high as 30% in young athletes and across various professional sports, between 20% and 36% of athletes retire due to injury having a strong, progressive strength and conditioning training plan is essential to minimizing reinjury risk.

We recognize that each individual requires a tailored program to optimize their recovery process.

At SOS, we start with a thorough evaluation which includes:

  • Mobility assessments
  • Stability and motor control assessments
  • Movement patterns assessment via the Functional Movement Screen ( FMS)

Through this evaluation process, our expert coaches build customized strength and conditioning programs to restore power, confidence, and durability—so you can get back to doing what you love.

Key components of return to play programs include:

  • Addressing Asymmetries: Small asymmetries are fairly normal, but when we see larger gaps in function (over 10%) we need to address these asymmetries.
  • Strength Training: Building strength in various movement patterns including squats, deadlifts, and training in a split stance. We also help athletes to start and continue training the entire body.
  • Rebuilding to Game Speed: Progressively training jumping and landing mechanics, acceleration and deceleration and change of direction to safely handle physical activity demands and work towards game speed.

This way, they can not only return to their sport or activity, optimally and efficiently, but also learn how to train and manage their body to stay as healthy as long as possible.
