The COMPETE and PERFORM Performance Training Program at Skill of Strength is designed for middle school and high school athletes who want to get stronger, faster, and more resilient. It’s all done in a motivating, coach-led environment.

Our dual-coach model includes two levels of programming that run simultaneously, so whether your athlete is new to training or already advanced, every athlete is challenged appropriately and safely.

This program blends proper strength training, conditioning, speed, agility, power and movement quality into a system that builds long-term athletic success.

Two programs. One time. Individualized coaching.

Middle & High School Training (Ages 12–18)

Athletes follow one of two tracks, each with a dedicated coach for individualized support:

  • COMPETE (Beginner/Intermediate):
    Focused on building foundational strength, learn proper technique, and developing confidence in the weight room.
  • PERFORM (Advanced):
    More advanced programming, including heavier progressions and higher-level speed, power, and conditioning work.

This tiered format allows athletes to train at the most popular time, without compromising quality, safety, or challenge level/results.

This structure creates both consistency and flexibility during busy sports seasons, allows more athletes to train year-round, and lets coaches move athletes up when they’re ready without disrupting their schedules.

Schedule Options:

Athletes choose their training group:

  • Monday and Wednesday
  • Tuesday and Thursday

*A missed sessioncan be made up on the opposite day (Monday and Tuesday are Day 1, where Wednesday and Thursday are both Day 2).

What Performance Training Sessions Across Both Levels Include:
  • Comprehensive warm-ups to prevent injury
  • Coordination & movement drills for balance and control
  • Strength training (bodyweight + foundational lifts)
  • Power development (jumps, throws, plyos)
  • Speed & agility progressions
  • Conditioning to enhance sport-specific endurance

With a low coach-to-athlete ratio and sports-centric coaches who care, every athlete gets the guidance they need to improve safely and consistently.

Getting stronger starts with showing up. Located in the heart of North Chelmsford, Skill of Strength is quick to find, easy to access, and ready to welcome you so you can spend more time training and less time traveling.

Our facility is conveniently located The Mill building located at 73 Princeton St in North Chelmsford, right off Routes 3 and 495. The Mill houses several businesses, including the Establishment Bar and Grill.
