Eat, nap and be fat and happy for Thanksgiving!

The holiday season is upon us, and every year people worry about gaining a few extra pounds. Countless blogs are written to keep to “keep your diet on track” or how to “stick to your macros during the holidays.”

You know what?

Fat and Happy Thanksgiving

Enjoy the freaking day with your family, friends and loved ones will ya! Thanksgiving is about being thankful and grateful for all you have.

My advice is to relax and do the following:

  • Have 2 desserts.
  • Load up on mashed potatoes.
  • Don’t choose between two types of pie you really want. Have both.
  • Have a good beer and share with friends (I will take a good IPA if you are looking for gifts for me!)
  • Watch some football. (Go Pats!)
  • Share a few laughs and bust someone’s chops.
  • Get out the Elf on a Shelf.
  • Pass out on the couch.
  • Sleep 10+ hours.

Food Coma

So, what about after you eat, sleep and laugh?

Black Friday just might be your best training session ever!

Its Friday morning, lets get back into a groove. Crush a few cups of coffee, browse Facebook on the can, and head to the gym!

At this point, you are all carbed up from Thanksgiving day and its time to crush a workout.

Crush a Workout

It’s a perfect time for a density day, a long run or a 60 minute rolling session. I don’t care what you do, just crush the workout! Find a training partner, push each other and dominate the workout.

After the session, go back to you normal diet and eating/training routine. You don’t need some BS cleanse, 2 weeks of shakes or a kale colon cleansing kit. Keep it simple!

Enjoy a great, well-fueled training session and then just do what you’ve always done to stay healthy and feel good.

Instead of counting calories and stressing about “eating too much” this Thanksgiving, spend that time giving thanks, being grateful, handing out extra hugs, saying “I love you” to someone special and truly enjoying the blessings in your life!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
