All of our MOVE. classes are full-body workouts designed to help you move better, get stronger and ultimately to build lean muscle and boost your metabolism long-term!
Please work with a coach to discuss an appropriate training schedule based on your fitness level, schedule and goals!
We recently implemented a heart rate tracking system, which will help you determine how hard you are working and how long you should be resting. In our classes we discuss how to utilize various training zones, both when lifting and conditioning.
MOVE. – STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
MOVE. classes are the cornerstone of our adult group training program. MOVE classes include a dynamic warm up, a full-body strength training workout and a metabolic conditioning session at the end of each class.
We design these programs monthly and you track workouts every session you attend in order to push yourself to lift a bit more each week and meet your training goals. Our experienced coaches can provide progressions and regressions for every exercise so you are challenged appropriately.
Some exercises you’ll see in our MOVE classes include push-ups, pull-ups, squat variations, TRX rows, kettlebell & barbell deadlifts, dead bugs, planks and more!
During the metabolic conditioning portion of our classes, we train all three energy systems. Not only will you improve your cardiovascular health, but you’ll also burn tons of calories and have fun at the same time. Our metabolic conditioning changes often, but you’ll be doing a combination of loaded carries, bodyweight exercises such as pushups or squats, bike sprints, sled pushes, medicine ball slams, battle rope slams and more.
MOVE. – BARS & BELLS
(Kettlebells and Barbells)
In bars and bells classes, you’ll utilize mainly, but not exclusively, exercises done with barbells and kettlebells. You’ll build lean muscle and burn tons of calories in these classes which combine mobility, strength and conditioning.
Whether your goal is to lose weight, become stronger, or just be generally more prepared for life, this is a great class for you to check out.
Usually we complete one main barbell lift (can be regressed to kettlebells if you have not trained with barbells yet) during class and then utilize kettlebell training exercises, such as turkish get ups, cleans, swings and snatches.
Some days these classes are more strength and technique focused and other days they are more metabolic/aerobic in nature. Hardstyle kettlebell training is devastatingly effective. You’ll have the ability to build strength and endurance simultaneously.
Please Note: Before taking a MOVE. – Bars and Bells class we require all clients take one of our introduction to kettlebell workshops. In addition, all clients must be evaluated prior to the introductory workshop.
MOVE. – BARBELL TECHNIQUE & STRENGTH
Barbell technique and strength is a technique-focused class designed to help you improve your barbell lifts and get stronger at the same time!
If you are looking to dial in your bench press technique, this class is perfect for you. If you’ve mastered the kettlebell goblet squat and kettlebell deadlift, you’re ready to move to a barbell and this class is also perfect for you. Basically, if you’re looking to get stronger (safely) and gain a greater understanding of barbell lifting principles, this class is a must-take.
Although we teach these barbell exercises in our MOVE classes, we encourage everyone to take barbell technique and strength classes in order to improve exercise form, stay safe and get stronger.
MOVE. – CONDITIONING
In our conditioning classes, we take you through a metabolic conditioning workout that is super effective for fat loss, speeding up your metabolism and improving cardiovascular health. Plus, these classes are way more fun than traditional “cardio.”
In these high energy conditioning classes, you’ll find a combination of bodyweight exercises and exercises using medicine balls, kettlebells, ropes, bikes, sleds and more!
We use our FitMetrix heart rate monitors and tracking system during these classes to ensure members experience an individualized program that will help improve fat loss. The work-to-rest periods are specific to you based on your heart rate and recovery.
We used to call this “crazy day” for a good reason, but don’t be scared, we mean crazy in the most fun way possible. We encourage all members to take conditioning a few times weekly as part of your training program.
MOVE. – ADVANCED CONDITIONING
Our advanced conditioning classes utilize more athletic-based movements such as footwork drills, multi-directional movements and sprinting. This is a perfect class for you if you’re looking to improve your speed and coordination.
FitMetrix heart rate monitors and tracking systems are used to ensure appropriate work to rest ratios for each individual taking class.
MOVE. – FUNDAMENTALS
If you have never lifted weights as part of your fitness routine or have been away from the gym for awhile, this is the class for you! In our fundamentals classes, we keep a close eye on your form and technique.
Join these classes to get stronger and move better, improving the quality of your life, regardless of your age or fitness level.
*All MOVE. members have full access to Skill of Strength during open gym hours.*
